Born into a family deeply ingrained in the music industry, Prakash Kumar’s journey began as a vocalist in the soundtrack of the Tamil film “Gentleman” (1993), composed by his uncle, A. R. Rahman. He subsequently collaborated with Rahman on various projects and also worked with other notable composers like Harris Jayaraj.
Prakash Kumar’s breakthrough as a music composer came with the critically acclaimed Tamil film “Veyil” (2006). His musical prowess gained further recognition with films like “Madrasapattinam” (2010) and “Aayirathil Oruvan” (2009), earning him accolades and widespread acclaim. He continued to deliver notable musical compositions in films such as “Darling” (2015), marking his debut as an actor as well.
